On 1st February I was in Westminster as part of the Labour Party Women in Leadership training.
On the day of the vote to trigger article 50 to kick start the Brexit negotiations it was an historic day and an invaluable insight into the workings of Parliament.
I was shadowing Deputy Leader of the Labour party Tom Watson who is also Shadow Minister for The Department of Culture, Media and Sport. As part of his role he made a visit to Sony to see their latest developments in virtual reality and the importance to the UK economy of this new industry. One which Cornwall has a big steak in with the impact of Falmouth University.
I was in the gallery for PMQ’s; was given a tour of Westminster by Lord Kennedy and had an invite to the launch event of LGBT month in the Leaders Office meeting Jeremy Corbyn!
A day to remember
